Have You Tried Spritzing Your Designer Series Paper?
While this fun little technique won’t work with all of your patterned paper, it will work with papers that have a lot of black or dark colors on them. The Back to Black Designer Series Paper is a perfect paper to try this with!
Sometimes I get so busy that I forget to experiment with my tools and techniques. Last weekend I had a chance to play with spritzing and other fun ways to color different kinds of papers. Today, I’m sharing the spritzing technique with you!
The round circle piece is actually from the Back To Black Designer Series Paper pack. I learned that this can be colored in several ways. You can use your Blendabilities on it or you can spritz it! The white takes the color while it doesn’t even show up on the black parts of the paper. You can coordinate you favorite patterns in the colors you’re making your card in!
Here I’ve used Cherry Cobbler reinker in my spritzer bottle. I mixed about 2/3 of the spritzer with rubbing alcohol from my local pharmacy and about 10 drops of my Cherry Cobbler reinker. Had I added more drops, it would have come out darker. Less drops would make it lighter.
You need to experiment with your formula and also with your spritzing technique. The distance that you hold the spritzer from your paper can give you different effects as well.
Here is a video tutorial for this technique:
The card started with this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch! I really liked this one. I did feel compelled to use the Typeset Specialty Paper that was featured in the sketch. I love using this paper. It just feels artsy!
