I don’t know why it always feels appropriate to create a scrapbook page on Sunday!
I have a quick page to share. I was just playing around with some of the design elements that I learned about in the recent classes and couldn’t resist creating a page using a picture of my husband and I from last spring. We both got bikes right after we moved and we have been loving the fact that we can ride through town to our choice of a huge number of parks in and around town. On one side, we have Long Island Sound and on the other side we have Peconic Bay and it’s only a few minute ride from one body of water to another. The keeper’s of this town have done a fantastic job maintaining the seaside heritage and the rural lifestyle while making the town a tourist destination.
I used a lot of leftover pieces to put this page together along with a background paper from Altenew’s Our Family paper pack and some smaller coordinating sheets from the Reflections paper pack. All of the stamped and die cut images I had in a bowl on my desk. My goal was to use up some of the stuff that I had leftover from the scrapbook classes that I took. Mission accomplished.
I used the feathers, camera, arrow and jellyfish images because we were in a park by the bay. That totally influenced my paper selection since this looks like water and then the smaller piece looks like the planks from the pier and docks all around town. There are lots of birds to watch, hence the feathers and there are jellyfish in mid to late summer. I like the camera because I think this is a fun selfie of the two of us and it was a really happy day.
I don’t think there is anything more relaxing than a nice bike ride and then sitting in the park watching sailboat races under the shade of a giant tree. You can tell that we are both happy that we moved to this town and we are enjoying the wonderful weather on a beautiful, relaxing day together.
The sentiments came from at least 5 different Altenew sets as did the stamped and die cut images. The wood square piece is also from the Reflections scrapbook kit. The enamel dots are from Stampin’ Up! as is the Washi Tape.
I’ve since added the date and location in my own handwriting to the page. I forgot to do that before I snapped the picture.
I can’t wait until I can get my bike out again! I’ll strap on my helmet and explore more of the town. So many parks to visit!!!
I hope you are having a relaxing day!
Thank you for stopping by!
