Less is definitely more if you are trying to create boutique cards.
A bit of color, lots of white space and some shine like a heat embossed sentiment in a script font.
The Rose Heart stamp set from Sparkle-n-Sprinkle just called to me to make just one more card!
One of the boutique card techniques that I learned in one of the classes I took was to create an entire background with a small stamp and then just color one of the images or just a few of the images.
I didn’t create an entire background, but I do love the line of images with just one colored in. I feel like it has a lot of impact and less really is more here.
The sentiment is heat embossed in Antiquities embossing powder from Sparkle-n-Sprinkle. Adding a metallic element was another boutique card technique that can add a special touch to a card. Plus, who doesn’t love a little shine?
I chose not to add any embellishments and really keep this CAS.
I colored in my image with Copics and added that drop shadow to give that one image some dimension. I love that touch when you are looking at the whole card. It really does help your card not look quite so flat.
