Using Patterned Paper For A Quick Background

By | 10/08/2019

Do you have too much patterned paper in your stash?

If you are anything like me, you don’t completely use up a package of patterned paper before you fall in love with a new one.

I limit myself to only purchasing 6×6″ paper stacks that have timeless patterns that I will eventually use.  In theory.

I also subscribe to a handful of card kits that usually come with a nice little stash of patterned paper.

This month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit had a pretty set of papers from My Mind’s Eye.

This week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge had a very challenging sketch.  Do you ever have one of those days where you come home from work completely exhausted and your creative tank is on empty?

Today was that day for me!

I wanted to have the energy to make a nice fall watercolor background, but that wasn’t happening.  Plus I have really been loving this month’s Simon Says card kit and couldn’t resist using this pretty paper.  The foil is some specialty paper that came in a previous Simon Says kit and I thought the pink was perfect for the muted tones of the paper.

I elected to use the Thankful Flowers stamp set and heat emboss several images on a piece of Vellum for the banner.  I also moved it to the left because I like it better that way.

This is my 5 card that I’ve made with this kit in the last 3 days.  I really am enjoying it.  I love that you always get a big stamp set with lots of images and sentiments in these kits.  I can really make them stretch and I will pull this one out and play with it more in the future.
