I found this week’s Paper Craft Crew card sketch to be quite a challenge!!! It looked like such a clean and simple card, yet the 4 sentiment banners made me pause!
I grabbed my Awesomely Artistic and Grateful Bunch stamp sets, along with my bin of washi tapes to create this card.
I knew that I wanted that bunch of flowers and leaves to be my background and of course you need some splatters! What I really needed was a color combination that worked. I decided to consult with an expert.
I pulled out one of the new sets of designer paper that I got from my Holiday Catalog preorder and used the color combo from that. It feels like cheating when you use one of the artists combinations, but that is my favorite way to select colors if I’m having trouble getting started!
I decided to go with washi tape and one sentiment strip rather than the four sentiment strips shown in the sketch for this week.
My card may have been more true to the sketch if I had stamped the flowers on a rectangle and popped that on the card with dimensionals. I have to confess to being to tempted to use the Blossom Bunch Punch that coordinates with the Grateful Bunch stamp set. I do love the convenience of punching out 3 flowers at once with one great punch and stamp set to make it just that easy! The 3 flowers are actually one stamp that perfectly coordinates with the spacing of the flowers on the punch. It’s as simple as stamping your image, sliding the paper into the punch and lining up a flower and punching!

I hope you find the color combination intriguing and give it a try!
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh Kim, I think you did a GREAT job with the challenge!!!! I am on a mission to use the wasabi I just got and your card is incentive. Beautiful card!
Thank you so much! I find that I’m using the washi tape a lot more now. I use it quite a bit on gift bags and in my bullet journal/planner. It adds a great pop of color to planner pages. Enjoy!
