I just needed a blue card today. I couldn’t resist creating something that wasn’t red and white! I also love the look of the 4 squares each with two sides rounded. I think that is one of my favorite card layouts. I pinned that layout design last winter and I’ve made at least 3 versions of that card since. Here is my take on that layout today:
How pretty is this?! Love it! I just couldn’t face another red card. I feel like I’ve been making red and white cards since mid-January!!! I’m also over the heart thing. The next heart I see better be filled with chocolates. I’m not kidding!
Today’s card is made with my favorite color: Midnight Muse. I keep making cards that are Midnight Muse and Whisper White. I know! It’s my favorite combination. Sort of like a comfort food, only instead they are my comfort colors to craft with.
Papers: Midnight Muse (cut 4 x 5-1/4), Whisper White (The card base is 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2″. The white mat is cut at 3-3/4 x 5″. I cut this into 2 pieces so that one was 3-3/4 x 3-3/4″. I rounded two corners of the bottom piece and stamped the sentiment.
Ink: Midnight Muse
Stamp Sets: Perfectly Penned (#122892) and Flowering Flourishes (#126367)
Accessories: Rhinestones, corner rounder, Stampin’ Trimmer.
Tips and Tricks:
- Stamp the largest flourish several times on the white square.
- Cut the white square into 4 pieces. (Cut the square in half at 1-7/8″ twice to get the small squares.)
- Be careful to place the squares down as you cut them apart so that you can match the pattern.
- Round opposite corners on each square. Be careful not to round the center corners.
- Add rhinestones to the flower centers and to the center of the squares.
