Christmas in July With Two Free Digital Stamps

By | 07/13/2020

You can get these two digital stamps for free until midnight tonight at the Kit and Clowder Facebook page.  These images are from Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez and you actually get the Koala hugging the Candy Cane and the Bauble.

Christmas in July with digital stamps from Kinda Cute

The Christmas Bauble comes as a single image.  I resized it and turned in different directions on the page to create my own background paper.  I experimented with some color combination with my Copics.  When I was done, I felt like it was too plain, so I spritzed it with some Altenew Antique Gold ink spray and some Jet Black ink spray.  I colored in the Koala and candy cane with my Copics and did the same thing.

I originally colored in my Koala with a smooth blending of my inks.  I decided that the little guy needed some texture to look fluffier so I added some stippling to add that texture and I was much happier with the result.

I also used a gold dazzle marker to color in the stripes and metal bits on the baubles.  I liked the old feel the ink sprays gave to this card.  It felt completed after the background wasn’t so glaring white!

The sentiment is from an old Kat Scrappiness stamp set.  I have no idea what it is called because the name of the stamp set is not on the stamp set or the packaging.  It was a Christmas sentiment set from a couple of years ago.

The layout is from this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge:

I thought this was a fun card to make and it certainly was a relaxing day of coloring.  I need to keep practicing so I can color images in quicker!!

I’m including some marker storage suggestions.  I have both the Crafter’s Companion storage and the Deflecto Storage boxes and I like them both.  Both give you a single slot per marker so you can put them in order making it easier to find and store them.  Both came highly recommended to me by other colorists and I have been happy with those recommendations.  So if you are looking for a way to store your markers, you can check out these suggestions and see if you might be interested in either of these.  It depends on your space and whether you need to move them from place to place.
