Combing Stamp Sets For A Card That You Love

By | 06/04/2016

You have a shelf full of stamp sets, why use just one to create a card!

That’s right!  Pick 3 or 4 stamp sets to use on one fabulous card.

I will admit that I made this card once with the new In Colors and didn’t fall in love with it until I saw a photo of the card.

So of course I made a second one with brighter colors and loved that one immediately.

My first attempt used Gorgeous Grunge, Flower Patch and Thoughtful Banners with the new In Colors of Sweet Sugarplum and Green Galore.  Here is the result:

I actually loved it once I saw the photos.  Aren’t the new In Colors fantastic?!  I also can’t stop loving that gorgeous grunge stamp set.  The creator of that is a genius!  I love the splatter stamp.  I’ve never quite achieved the perfection that I look for no matter what splatter technique that I try.  This gorgeous grunge is a perfect background stamp set.  Imagine this card without the background stamping of the lines and dots.

Not as interesting, right?!

My second attempt used Melon Mambo, Basic Black and gold!  I really needed bright colors tonight for some reason.  I used the Pop of Pink Washi Tape as my inspiration for color and then use the same layout using the new Timeless Texture stamp set.  (I’m predicting this will be one of my new faves!)

Love!!!!  I used the dots from Timeless Texture, the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge, the sentiment and banner from Thoughtful Banners and the flower from Flower Patch.

POP of color and WOW!

Little details…the gold foil flecks on the washi tape are fab!  The thin gold thread is a sweet subtle touch.  The enamel dots are also subtle and the gold sequins are a POW!

Not my normal style…it’s actually out of my comfort zone, but I love it!

There is just something freeing in randomness and imperfection.

And how about the first card?  It was not love at first sight.  I did not realize how much I actually liked it until I took a picture of it and went to edit it.

I love those colors together.  That will be a new color combo for my future use.  That pop of green on an otherwise sugarplum card is pretty great.

Has that ever happened to you?  You make a project and don’t love it.  You fuss with it and just don’t feel it.  You toss it on your craft table and walk away.

The next day…you look at it and love it!  How does that happen?  Fresh eyes make all the difference, don’t they?
