With Valentine’s Day just a day off, I really should be making a fabulous card to celebrate. Stampin’ Up! has so many fabulous stamp sets and so many great colors, I’m finding it difficult to limit myself to heart cards in red and white! I just had to take this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge and create something different. I know it was intended to be a Valentine’s Day card, but I had to put my own twist on it!
I am in love with the Stippled Blossom stamp set! I used it for one of my cards last week in Melon Mambo and Regal Rose. I just couldn’t resist working in a different color family today! I used Marina Mist and Midnight Muse!!! Ahhh…so nice!
Materials:
Papers: Midnight Muse (4-1/4 x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″ for the card base.), Tea For Two Designer Series Paper cut at 4 x 5-1/4″ (#129311) and Whisper White card stock for the circles and sentiment.
Inks: Marina Mist, Midnight Muse and Lucky Limeade
Stamp Sets: Stippled Blossoms (#126747) and Loving Thoughts (#125845)
Accessories: Paper Doilies (#129399) sponged with Marina Mist, Marina Mist Organdy Ribbon (#129292), Modern Label Punch (#119849), 1-3/4″ Circle Punch (#119854), Soda Pop Tops (#129388) flattened in the Big Shot between the cutting plates with no tabs on the platform.
I started with a card sketch from the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. My card is the same layout, but flipped and with my own take on the elements that I added to the card!
Try your hand at a sketch challenge and see what you can come up with. Start with this sketch and look at what stamps and embellishments you have in your stash! Have fun with it!
