Create A Spring Background With Stencils For A Cute Critter

By | 03/29/2021

There is something about spring that just makes me want to create little scene cards with cute critters!

I have a sweet spring scene using 3 stencils from Maker Forte to create a background for a very cute Umbrella Mouse digital image from Gerda Steiner Designs.  I’m going to enter this card in Gerda Steiner’s March SYD (Share Your Designs) Challenge just for fun.  You never know when you might win a free digital image!

I used the grass stencil, the cloud stencil and the raindrop stencil from Maker Forte.  My Catherine Pooler inks in It’s a Boy, Pixie Dust, and Grass Skirt provided the color for the sky, grass and rain.

I stenciled the raindrops in purple, left the stencil on and added some Maker Forte Color Hive Clear embossing ink through the stencil then brushed on the Kaleidoscope mica powder in Mercury before removing the stencil.  This gave the raindrops some pretty sparkle!

I used my Copics to color in the mouse and popped her up on foam before adding it to my background.  The sentiment is one of the All Seasons Sentiment cut aparts from Maker Forte that I am LOVING!

I finished the card off by placing the panel on top of a yellow green piece of cardstock cut at 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ and added some Maker Forte Vegas Strip Crown Jewel Gems just for extra sparkle.
