Make The Cards Challenge: A Color Challenge

The Make The Cards Challenge for this week is a color challenge and it’s a super fun combination!

How pretty is this combination?!  I am loving it!

I decided to make a fun fold card that is quick and easy.  I kept it simple and added some mixed media for fun.  That citron color made me want to pull out my distress oxides and do some of the things Vicki Boutin taught me over the last year!

I created a sweet card using Sassy & Crafty’s Bouncy Path Stencil, Love in an Envelope stamp set and Stuck on You stamp set.  They all coordinate with the mail or letter theme and they are just so sweet!

This sweet little cat image is from the Love in an Envelope stamp set,  while the sentiment is from the Stuck on You stamp set.

I created a smooshed background on the inner piece of watercolor paper with Twisted Citron distress oxide ink, then stenciled on some Vicki Boutin Iridescent Glaze that I colored purple with the Dusty Concord distress oxide ink.

I think the inside panel is very fun!  I created a triangle flap card that I added a belly band to hold it closed.  I attached my focal image to the belly band so that the entire piece slides on and off easily.

I topped it off with 3 Maker Forte Crown Jewel Gems in a fun heart shape to complete the card.

Copic Combinations:

Cat: YR 15, 14, 12, 02

Letter: YG 25, 23, 21

Heart: BV 17, 13, 11
