Create Cards From Your Cardstock Scraps And Die Sets

By | 03/09/2021

I have 4 cards to share with you today using cards you can create with just cardstock and your dies!

I’m using some of my favorite die sets from Scrappy Tails Crafts to create the cards that I’m sharing with you today.  I had a pile of scraps on my work table and I’ve been wanting to use them to create some pretty spring backgrounds for some quick die cuts.

If you are looking for ways to use your paper scraps, be sure to check out Pinterest to find more inspiration!!

For my first two cards, I applied the cardstock strips diagonally across a piece of scrap white cardstock.  I trimmed up the edges and then attached it to a deep purple cardstock piece and added it at an angle to one of my card bases.  I trimmed that down, keeping it in one piece so I could use it on a second card base.

I used the baby’s breath die in deep purple from the Assorted Leaves dies set and the Thank You from the Slimline Pop Up Box Card die set to complete the card.  Quick and easy!

I used the Assorted Rose die set and the same sentiment to complete this card.  I used the leftover piece that I cut off from the previous card to add my cardstock scraps as a background here.

My last two cards are made in a similar way, except the cardstock strips were placed horizontally on the white cardstock and the panel was cut roughly in half.

I used some extra roses I had created for the second card on this card. These are from the Assorted Rose die set and the stem of leaves is from the Assorted Leaves die set.

My final card uses the second half of that panel turned sideways creating vertical lines. I love this baby’s breath die in the purple, so I couldn’t resist using it again here! Are you interested in the products I used? To make them easier for you to find, I have linked them below. These cards made me so happy that I purchased a package of pastel cardstocks from Cardstock Warehouse.  I had a good coupon and I’ve really been enjoying using these colors for the last few weeks.  You can see by the number of left over strips that I had used a lot of pastel paper!!

By the way…these card ideas would work with patterned paper scraps as well!
