Create Custom Color Card Stock For Layering Dies

I’ve had Altenew’s Rose Flurries 3D Die set on my wish list for almost two years!  I finally splurged when I saw they created a creativity kit and it was part of the bundle.

I created a card for this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge using this die set, the thanks die and the dotted scales cover die that I also recently purchased.

How pretty is that rose?  I created my own colors of card stock using my favorite set of blues from Altenew by swiping the ink pad across white card stock.  The color evens out as the ink dries.  I was able to use the 4 inks that Altenew put together in a set to create 4 card stock colors that would layer together.  I did the same with the 2 layers of the green for the leaves.

The thanks die is embossed in Antique Gold embossing powder to give a beautiful shiny metallic element for my card.

That background piece is created from Altenew’s Dotted Scales Debossing Cover Die.  Isn’t it a nice subtle background.  I wanted something a little more than just a plain white mat and I think that adds a really elegant touch.

You can see from the photo below that it takes “a village” or a good stash of supplies to create some cards and this was one of them!
