I’ve got so much to share today!
I created a bunch of quick and easy circular backgrounds with my new 3″ gelli plate. I usually use a 5 x 7″ or a 6″ round one, but after taking the July One Little Word class with Ali Edwards, I purchased a set of 3 smaller gelli plates with a round one, a square one and a triangle.
Today, I played with the small one to create some backgrounds for the cute Halloween images that I had colored with my Copics from the 7 Kids Craft Store September Release stamp sets.
I used the Halloween Kids and the Halloween Faeries stamp sets today!
Here is the little gift bag topper that I created with the 3″ gelli plate. I’m in love with this little gelli plate!! Those little images are from the Halloween Kids set. I could have added more images to create more of a scene, but I wanted to keep these projects simple.
I’m going to share all the projects and then I will show you how I created in them in the video below!
Check out that background! I often use acrylic paint with these plates, but today I used my distress oxides to keep it tidier! I used Fossilized Amber, Chipped Sapphire, and Seedless Preserves.
This little faery tag is made with the Halloween Faeries stamp set. I cut down the gelli plate circle to fit the tag die I used to create my tag. How cute is this little faery?!
I love the texture that you get with a gelli plate background. I only did one layer for this background, but you can step this up with so many techniques to create a real mixed media background.
I created so many of these backgrounds in under 10 minutes that I made two of them into cards! Here I’ve added a scalloped border frame that I die cut from a scalloped circle frame and a piece of lime green glitter paper. Sweet!
Notice how different each background is even though I used the same 3 colors each time! I love this!!!
How sweet is this card? That cute pumpkin faery is so adorable. I think this background looks like a plaid!!
These little kids and faeries are so much fun to color!
I must also warn you that gelli plate backgrounds are addictive. You can’t just make one!!
