I feel like my cards are more interesting if they have some kind of texture on them. There are lots of techniques for adding that texture, but the easiest way to do it is to do some tone-on-tone heat embossing!
I used this month’s Hedgehog Hollow kit with the Halloween stamps to create a fun card. I started by selecting 2 images from the stamp set and I stamped them multiple times in clear embossing ink on to black cardstock. Then I added black embossing powder and heat set.
The end result is a subtle background with some texture and as a bonus it is also shiny! When the recipient holds it and moves it, they will see the shine!
I finished off my card by stamping 3 different images and coloring them very simply with my Copics. I fussy cut them out and added a sentiment from the kit.
To finish off the card, I added some white splatter with a #6 round paint brush, some white reinker and a spritz of water.
So simple!
