I can’t get enough of these watercolor pencils that Stampin’ Up! has come out with! If you haven’t tried them, they are well worth the $16 price tag in 13 of Stampin’ Up!’s pretty coordinating colors.
I used the Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry and Bermuda Bay pencils. I stamped the dragonfly from Dragonfly Dreams in StazOn permanent black ink on regular whisper white card stock and then just scribbled some of the color on.
The pencils color so smoothly! I blended them with some Gamsol and blending stumps or tortillions. The blending stumps are basically tightly wound paper that you can sand to a pointed tip and the Gamsol is a blending medium. I’ve been experimenting with these new tools and I like them for water coloring on regular card stock.
I bought the blending stumps, Gamsol and the sanding paper pad as a set from a demonstrator friend at another company. I decided to try some new tools that Stampin’ Up! does not sell. I’m so glad that they have this set of water color pencils now. LOVE this!
I think they will be great for using in my bullet journal. Just one more tool to add to my creative obsessions.
My layout for the week was inspired by the Paper Craft Crew Sketch for this week. My friend, Pam Staples, has created another clean and simple sketch that is quite versatile.
What might you put in that corner instead of a dragonfly or a flower?
I used one of the new 2017-2019 In Colors called Powder Pink. The ribbon is the new Fresh Fig In Color. Aren’t these two colors fabulous together? I love the In Colors this year!
What a beautiful card, love the colors of your dragonfly!
Hugs, Sherry x
Thank you!
Hi Kim,
I purchased the watercolor pencils from you and made a few cards. I love using them. I used a blender pen to pull the color to the center of the spaces and they look great. Truly look like I Watercolored them. I hope you can do some videos with these pencils at some point. Can I also ask if you will be sending out the new Stampin up catolog? I love looking through page by page rather than online. Thanks Kim!
Hi Anita! The pencils are fabulous and I hope to do some videos soon. I will be sending my catalogs out by the end of this week on the last day of school for the year! I completely forgot to send them out with the automatic mailer this year. There is nothing better than flipping through the catalog. It has so many ideas!
