Do you have die sets sitting in your stash that you got on clearance and still haven’t used?
I have this fantastic Sizzix thinlets die set for creating mini albums. It has 15 dies that include some great embellishment dies for the pages.
This is a perfect little die set to use up those 6 x 6” paper pads that you have leftover. I had 14 pieces from a pad that was colorful and cheerful that I had gotten from a card kit. I couldn’t see myself using these papers on cards, but this little mini album is perfect for them!
I created this for the new Scrapping 4 Fun Challenge which is an Anything Goes challenge sponsored by Dies R Us.
I decided to finally use this die set to create this mini book for the challenge. The challenge is sponsored by Dies R Us, so it seemed appropriate to use a die I have had in my stash and keep telling myself that I want to use and just never make the time to use it!
I used some heavy weight Kraft cardstock to create the base pages with the larger of the dies. Then the smaller die was used with the patterned paper that was then added to the front of each of the mini album pages. Since the papers all came from the same stack, they all coordinate. The two papers that I had leftover were cut apart pages that will be used to embellish my album pages once I add photos!
I created 12 pages in my album in total and this was very quick to put together. The pages all use one die, then the patterned paper is a second smaller die, then there is a third die that serves to as a binder edge for the little album.
It’s very cute!
I used some leftover dies that I had from October that I had not finished up from the Hip Kit Club order that I had. I used all the papers, but had a few die cuts left. The colors were soft pastels that worked well with this patterned paper.
I added a tag that I created from one of the sticker package backings. I thought it was too pretty not to create something with! I have a tag punch in my stash and this seemed like a great time to pull it out! I stamped in some distress oxide inks using Carabelle Studio stamps that I had purchase for mixed media projects. The little ticket tags came from one of the papers in the paper stack I used. The sentiment is die cut from a scrap piece using dies from this set. I added a frame that I had leftover from the December Hip Kit Club. I pulled some twine and ribbon from my stash and topped it off with a few sequins…also from my stash!
I love that ALL of the pieces for this project were items from my stash! I used no new stuff here and I’ve ended with a cute little mini album to decorate or use as a gift! (I’m thinking that I may just have completed my Mom’s Mother’s Day gift right here! Of course, I’ll add some photos and embellishments and I bet she would enjoy this gift!)
