Do you remember the very first stamp that you purchased?
I don’t remember mine, but I can tell you that I have all of my early stamps and my collection is filled with Hero Arts stamps.
My card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge uses a new Hero Arts Bundle I just couldn’t resist buying!
The Color Layering Monarch Stamp and Die bundle came with a set of 4 ink cubes and a mystery bonus stencil. I do love when stamp companies throw in a freebie!
How pretty is this butterfly?
This is a layering stamp set and the butterfly has 3 layers. I used the soft vanilla ink for the solid base layer, the Neon Orange for the middle layer and the Charcoal for the top layer.
You can see that I used the mystery bonus stencil that came with the kit as well. I love to take a stencil like this arrow one and just use part of it and softly fade the ink along the edges. I used my Picket Fence Life Changing Blender Brushes to stencil this is the soft vanilla ink. I then used the charcoal ink and stamped it on my Altenew silicon craft mat and spritzed it with water. My number 12 round paint brush filled with the diluted ink was used to splatter the background.
I felt like I wanted the butterfly to pop a little more against the background, so I covered the entire surface in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it in clear embossing powder. I love how this made the colors deepen and gave that butterfly a lot of shine.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set and it is heat embossed in white on a piece of black scrap card stock. The card base is 90# Neenah Solar White cut at 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″. To finish off the card, I added some white sequins on top.
You can see the shine on the butterfly. It’s such a pretty touch to add to the focal point of your card and so easy to do.
