Is It Time To Make The Christmas Cards?

By | 12/03/2019

Is it really December already?

Where has time gone this year?

It’s been a year of big changes for us with more to come in the next few weeks.  We are embracing them all!

I finally sat down and made a Christmas card!  It’s time!!

This image is a small portion of the actual stamp I used for this card.  This is the Pine Branch and Pinecones stamp set from Colorado Craft Company.

I found two fabulous stamp sets that are perfect for the holidays, but I can also use throughout the winter.  More bang for my crafty bucks!

I stamped this using the Altenew Milk Chocolate and Mountain Pine ink pads.  This is truly my favorite ink combination for pine branches and cones.  It’s the perfect combination in my opinion!

I added some strips of thin gold Washi tape from Altenew and the sentiment is stamped in my favorite Antique Gold Embossing Powder…also from Altenew.

I added some Wink of Stella in crystal clear or in might have been Nuvo glitter gloss pen.  I captured how much it sparkles in this photo.

You can also see that I since I used dye based inks the color spread a little from the water-based glossy glitter pen.  I actually wanted that to happen just to add a touch of color to the pinecone itself.

Do be aware that this will happen if you use the glossy glitter pens on dye inks.  I find that with a light touch I can prevent that from happening, but in this case I was going for it!

It gives it a light watercolor wash look.

I added some red enamel dots from Altenew and some white sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

All of the card stock is leftover scrap stash and it was nice to be able to grab something that was already cut and ready to go.

My card layout came from this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This is such a beautiful card layout, I’m adding it to my digital card layout file of favorites.

The theme was inspired by the arrival of my newest wintery stamps and this week’s Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge.
