Make The Cards Challenge: Coffee Theme

By | 03/08/2021

The Make The Cards Challenge for this week is a Coffee Themed Challenge!

I don’t really have a good coffee cup stamp set, so I purchased a digital stamp from Not 2 Shabby for this challenge.  I have a great stamp set from Cas-ual Fridays Stamps called Coffee Talk and I finally had a reason to use it!  The sentiments were too funny not to buy this stamp set, but I had yet to use it until today!

This was a quick image to color in.  The sentiment is heat embossed in black.  I added 3 little hearts…because…coffee.  ‘Nuff said!

I had originally colored the cup in with my favorite red combination, but then remembered that this is March and St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, so green it is!

Color Combinations:

Cup: G 18, 17, 14, 12

Cup holder: E 35, 33, 31, 30

Coffee: E 18, 17, 15

Rims: W 5, 3, 1

Whipped Cream: C 1, BV0000

Shadow: W3, 1

As you can see, I kept this card very clean and simple.  I added layers of dark brown and kraft card stock to finish off the card.

The trend has been white cards with white layers and I’ve really been missing using colored card stock.  I don’t have a huge stash of it, but I do have enough to use and enjoy when I’m in the mood.

Sadly, I can’t drink coffee anymore.  I’m not supposed to have caffeine and they recommend not having decaf because it still has some caffeine apparently.  I miss my morning cuppa.  I actually started drinking coffee when I started teaching because that was a social thing in the morning before school.  I just kept drinking it because I enjoyed it and there were all those sleep deprived years of being a working mother, so that made it necessary.  Now I get a good 8 hours of sleep every night and wake up refreshed.  I don’t really need the coffee, but I did enjoy it anyway…alas, with age comes great sacrifices.  Like my morning coffee on the porch!

I do hope you will join us for the Make The Cards Challenge this week.  We so love to see what you have created!

I am delighted that you stopped by!  Have a wonderful day and enjoy that coffee while you can!

Be well!
