Make The Cards Challenge: Witch or Halloween Theme

By | 10/13/2021

I won a gift certificate to Connie Fong’s Etsy shop by participating in one of those Instagram Hops a couple of week’s ago.  You know the ones, like this post, follow me on IG, tag a friend…but honestly, I’ve won at least 3 of them in the last three months!

I got a nice scrapbook collection from Photoplay and I’ve been enjoying creating some fabulous 12 x 12″ layouts.  I won a stamp and die set along with other little goodies from The Scrappin’ Rabbit, and I won a $15 gift card to Connie Fong’s shop.

$15 in a digital shop goes a long way.  I selected lots of cute images and I have one to share today!

I knew I had this week’s Make The Cards Challenge coming up and I wanted a cute witch to make a card just for this challenge!  I selected this Witch Broomstick Gnome.  The set came with several versions of this image.  I printed the moon and bats separate from the witch.   I knew that I wanted to create an ink blended background and that moon with the bats was perfect for what I had in mind.

This also allowed me to color and fussy cut this sweet witchy gnome and her cat out and pop them up on some foam.  How sweet is this little lovely scene?!

The set actually came with some sentiments which I totally forgot about!  I used a sentiment that I had sitting all prepared on my craft table.

My night sky blend includes Mustard Seed, Seedless Preserves, Blueprint Sketch, and Black Soot.  I spritzed it with water to make it appear that there are stars in the sky.  I also added 3 solar flare crown jewel gems to give the look of stars.

That fabulous patterned paper is from Catherine Pooler’s fall release and they are fun plaid papers.
