I love playing with trends. For this little card, I played with banners and washi tape. Stampin’ Up! has several resources for demonstrators to get ideas and inspiration from. Honestly, I don’t usually have time to look at a lot of it between teaching full time, taking card of the home stuff and my little stamping business. (Okay…I lied. I’ve completely neglected the home stuff!)
With the new catalog and the latest edition of the demonstrator magazine, I felt so inspired with just a tiny peek at the magazine during bathroom duty one day. (I should have been grading papers. I don’t know how that magazine slipped into the stack of work stuff!)
They had several small card designs that I just fell in love with! I modified this one to make it my own, but it is essentially the same layout with whatever happened to be sitting on top of my craft desk at the moment.
I love the banners and the washi tape that are so trendy right now. I also love the little bit of the paper lace doily peeking out on a card. This is so not my card making style, but I’ve quickly fallen in love with how random these little cards feel. No fussy layers or measuring. Just slap the bits on and call it done! Whew! I can handle that!
