Quick And Easy Card For Paper Craft Crew

By | 02/13/2019

I created a quick and easy card for the Paper Craft Crew challenge this week.

I did edit a couple of things out of the sketch for my card.  As I look back through my blog photos over the years, the cards I like the least are often cards that I made for sketch challenges or color challenges.

I’ve discovered the reason is that I wasn’t making cards that were true to my card making style.

I like two kinds of card:  Clean and simple or cards with fabulous techniques.

I don’t like cards with a lot of layers or a lot of frill.

I want to keep it simple.  Mostly!

I have been avoiding using a lot of patterned paper over the past year.  That was one of those things that I over spent on when I was with Stampin’ Up!  I felt like I needed to have all of the papers so that I could feature them in my blog posts and videos.  I ended up with a lot of papers that I did not love and that I did not use.

I ended up donating it to an after school program so that other people could use it and love it.

Now, I only buy paper that I love and I only buy 6 x 6″ patterned papers for the most part.  I did splurge on a scrapbooking kit from Altenew when it was 50% off, but I loved the papers and I’ve used almost all of them.  I filled an album with the contents of that kit.

These papers are from the Sweet Stack from My Favorite Things.  I always wait until they are on sale or I have a good coupon.  I also wait until my list is big enough to get the freebie die and the free shipping from MFT Stamps.  They have fantastic freebies and coupons.  Plus, I love their 6 x 6″ paper stacks.  I purchase one a season to coordinate with the cards I will be making.  This one will be perfect for the spring holidays.  I have already used a good portion of it and I’ve only had it a couple of weeks.

I also love the 6 x 6″ paper stacks from Sunny Studio Stamps.  Again, they tend to have them for the seasons.  I love the variety of patterns and colors that I get in those paper stacks.Stamping Imperfection Quick and Easy Thank You card

I used the Wonky Squares stacked die set from MFT stamps here.  I love the wonky stitched outline for the square.  I think it is whimsical and fun.

I’ve used Altenew’s stamp sets: Mini Rose and Many Thanks.

I love Altenew’s mini stamp sets.  They are less than $4-5 and you get a great image and a sentiment most of the time.  Here, I got a 3 layered stamp set and 2 images.  This was actually the set included in the scrapbooking kit that I got.  The sentiments with the set are perfect for scrapbooking pages.  The sentiment that I used on this card is from the Many Thanks stamp set.  I love the variety of fonts and thank you sentiments in this set, along with all the secondary sentiments that it comes with.  I have used it more times that  I can tell you.

Having one great thank you stamp set that gives you lots of thank you choices is a great addition to your stamping stash.  Altenew also has 2 birthday greetings sets that are packed full of birthday sentiments in a variety of fonts and sizes as well.

I have been busily working on my blog posts for the rest of this week and next week.  I have a busy two week period and I wanted to make sure that I shared a lot of card ideas with you.  I am sharing one supply list for all of the cards that you can expect to see over the next couple of weeks.

I picked out some stamp and die sets that I love and I can’t wait for you to see the cards that I have been creating.  I’ve made lots of clean and simple cards and a couple fabulous technique cards to share with you!
