Who can resist creating a great scene card or two with the new Stampin’ Up! Relaxing Waterside stamp and die set?

How great is this?
I ink blended some Crumb Cake in along the bottom. Then added a layer of Coastal Cabana and topped it all with some Balmy Blue to create what I hope feels like a waterside view.
I stamped and double stamped some of the beach grasses in Pecan Pie. The flying seagull is stamped in Slate Gray.
I stamped and die cut out the Adirondack chair, one flying seagull, one standing seagull, and a book using Slate Gray and Peaceful Pine for the book. I added some watercolor pencil details to the chair, seagull and book just to add some color.
My sentiment is stamped in Secret Sea.
I also added some Stampin’ Blend stippling detail in Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie to create some texture in the beach sand.
I contemplated adding some Blends details to the water portion, but the card already felt busy and I wanted the focus to be the beach part of the card. The water and sky are just background.
I layered the top panel onto Secret Sea. Then I added another layer of white between the Secret Sea and the Coastal Cabana card base. There are a few matte dots in Basic Beige from my stash to finish it all off.
I really love the end result!
I decorated the inside as well. It says “Relax, here’s to a new chapter” and it has a cup of coffee.
This card is for my Son-in-Law who is moving with my daughter and their daughter from Michigan to New York. The bought a pretty little house that is close to the beach. He’s going to have to get used to seagulls flying around over his house calling to all their seagull friends. It’s just part of life if you live close to beaches. (Even though they won’t be on the beach…they will be near enough to hear the seagulls and the trains from the train station! Two of my favorite background noises to hear every single day!)
I hope he likes the card! It seemed so perfectly appropriate for his first Father’s Day in their new locale!
