Altenew has hit it out of the park with their 3D floral layering dies. They are so popular that Altenew has created a membership subscription that you can purchase to receive a new 3D floral layering die each month with a different flower.
I decided to give it a try for a couple of months. I had purchased 3 sets of these fabulous dies for flowers that I really loved and knew I would use and create projects with. The projects were so beautiful that I decided to try out the subscription service just to add a few to my collection. They are perfect for scrapbook pages.
I used them to create a page today and I have to say that they are a tad overwhelming on a 6 x 8″ layout!
I took the Fabulous Florals Scrapbook Class at Altenew Academy in May and one of the lessons focused on these 3D layering florals. Several of the lessons focused on the visual triangle, so that was the skill I was practicing today. Vicki Boutin has mentioned that many times during her lives on Facebook and YouTube as well.
You can see my floral clusters form a triangle as do my sentiments and embellishments. I should have used smaller florals, but that lily is my very favorite 3D die so far and I just got it. Plus, the hibiscus is a flower that I saw a lot in Florida when I was down there so it seemed appropriate with the manatee photos.
My photos are not the best, but the water was very murky that day and I just loved how much time the mama and baby manatee spent hanging around in front of our porch. They spent several afternoons hanging out under the mangroves across from our cottage.
Isn’t that lily gorgeous? I also fussy cut some leaves and stems from one of the wide Washi tapes that Altenew carries. I love this particular one because it has a lot of gold foil highlights. You can see the wood sentiment and the new sequins that Altenew has come out with recently as well. The wood pieces are all from their scrapbook line of products.

I always handwrite at least one sentiment. I feel like that is an important thing to preserve in your scrapbook pages. I love looking at the recipes that my grandmother wrote out for me for a recipe album one year. I just loved that gift. That handwriting is precious to me.
I added a touch of the wide Washi to the top of the page as well.
Die cutting and layer all of the florals and fussy cutting the rest was time consuming, but relaxing. Almost as relaxing as spending the day with mama and baby manatee!
