Create A Quick Card With A Cover Die

By | 06/03/2020

Have you fallen in love with Cover Dies yet?

Once you try one and discover all of the things you can do with them, you will be hooked.

Take a look at this fabulous Flower Burst cover die by Catherine Pooler:

I ink blended with 3 Catherine Pooler inks: Rockin’ Red, Something Borrowed, and Tiara.  I just can’t get enough rainbows.

I love the sentiment on this card.  This is from Catherine Pooler’s Happy Butterflies stamp set.  These are all from her recent Flutters and Blooms release.

Cover dies make fabulous shaker cards, plus you can do the inlaid die cutting technique that I shared with my second Technique a Week Beyond the basics video that you can find HERE.

Once I had my 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ panel ink blended with my Picket Fence blender brushes, I die cut it with this fabulous cover plate and my Silhouette Platinum die cutting machine.  I added it to my card front with the Bearly Art glue, attached a sentiment and some gold dots.

Easy card!

One interesting tip I have for you today is that if you are having trouble blending…re-ink your ink pads!  I’ve been struggling with my ink blending lately and I finally broke down and re-inked my ink pads because they were looking dry.  Low and behold…no more ink blending issues!  Such a simple fix!

My card today was created for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  This week is a themed challenge:  Bright Blooms!
