Simple Scrapbooking: Black and White with a Pop of Color

By | 02/03/2025

I simply cannot get enough of the Mixed Media Florals Suite of products.  I’ve made a couple dozen cards and several scrapbook layouts.  It’s actually hard to pick which projects are my favorites from this suite.  I love that there are two stamp and die sets that coordinate with this DSP and I love that there are Memory and More cards that coordinate with this set as well.

I couldn’t wait to create a scrapbook layout out of the black and white papers in this set!

Once again, I used the Documenting the Day Sale-A-Bration FREE stamp set to create my title.  I a couple strips of DSP and stamped on one of them to create part of the title.  I often forget that I can stamp of DSP to get the look I want!  A dark ink on a lighter pattern works beautifully here.  I also fussy cut the letters in DAY after stamping them in black on white cardstock.  Those got popped up on dimensionals so they pop off the page more.

I kept the rest of my layout simple.  That one large, stamped image watercolored with my Stampin’ Up! inks felt like all I  needed.  I did add one die cut grassy piece behind the florals to separate it a bit more from the busy black and white patterned paper.  I ink blended some Mossy Meadow ink on white paper to keep it light, but still allow it to pop the florals up a bit.

I’m working on keeping my layouts a little less cluttered with ephemera.  I like the end result here!

This is my coordinating page.  I have lots of space to add some journaling here thanks to those Memories and More cards.  It was so challenging to pick just one of them!
