I decided to make a year in review type double page layout to use some of the photos my daughter has been sending me over the last 10 months. One double page layout has turned into two double page layouts. I prefer to have just a few photos on each page, so the layout that I’m sharing today will cover from birth to 6 months for my granddaughter’s year in review pages. Tomorrow I will share the double page layout for months 7-12!
The kit came with two pieces of single sided patterned paper with this Berry Burst watercolor wash background and the white circle detail. I was inspired by a couple of the layouts that we did on the Stampin’ Up! Virtual Album Retreat earlier this summer.
Several of the layouts used the idea of labeling the photos with a number that would correspond to the journaling for the photo somewhere else on the layout. I never do my journaling like this, but I love the idea of doing so.
I created my own journaling space by stamping the line stamp from the Just a Note stamp set twice in Night of Navy ink. I trimmed the paper larger than necessary, so I had room for my numbers. The numbers are from an older alphabet set that I have in my stash from Close To My Heart. I also added some details from the stamp set I got from the Virtual Album Retreat.
The smaller numbers next to the photo mats are from a very old Stampin’ Up! set. I punched those out with a 1/2″ circle punch and popped them up on dimensionals next to each photo mat.
The Annie title is from another old Stampin’ Up! alpha set, while the Special Moments subtitle is from the recently retired Storybook Life stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I am absolutely loving the stamp sets that coordinate with the scrapbook workshop kits. I find myself pulling them out over and over again with my newer kits as well. I’m getting my money’s worth from these stamp sets!
I added some 1/4″ Night of Navy sticker borders to the outer edge of each page and filled the rest of the layout in with floral stickers and dies from the kit.
I also stamped some white splatter around and added some Charming Shimmer Faceted Dots.
I did use one sheet of Night of Navy DSP from the coordinating Charming Florals DSP paper set that Stampin’ Up! released in July. This scrapbook workshop kit that I used coordinates with that DSP beautifully and will be available for purchase on September 5, 2025.
I find myself enjoying scrapbooking so much now that Stampin’ Up! is creating these scrapbook workshop kits and coordinating stamp sets. I love that they also usually have a coordinating suite of products that work with the kits as well. I’m using all of the supplies and creating multiple double page layouts and cards with the materials that I am purchasing. My stuff is not just sitting on the shelf collecting dust!
I also love that I’ve applied some of the ideas that I got from that Virtual Album Retreat. I know that it was kind of expensive, but I got so much out of the 3-day retreat. I completed my album because I crafted along with each video when they went live. By the end of the retreat, I was exhausted! I did have a gorgeous album to show for it!
Stop back tomorrow for another double page layout with this kit!
