Stampin’ Up! with Summer Solstice!

By | 04/09/2013

The Summer Solstice stamp set from Stampin’ Up! really allows you to make beautiful handmade cards.  It’s one of those great sets with images and inspirational sayings.  While the name of the set makes it feel like you would be creating cards that evoke summer, a simple change of colors will make it feel like a whole different season!

summer_solsticeWhenever I use a desinger series paper as I did in this card, I always look at the catalog to see what colors were used in the papers so that I can use the matching ink colors.  This is supposed to be primrose petals and raspberry ripple.  I made a card with the primrose petals and it really didn’t match.  For this card, I used cajun craze ink.  Much better!

Card Details:

Paper: Crumb Cake (#120953), Very Vanilla (#101650), Print Poetry Designer Series Paper (#129312)

Ink: Cajun Craze (#126965), Early Espresson (#126974), Old Olive (#126953)

Stamp Set: Summer Solstice (#122037 Clear, #122024 Wood)

Accessories: Big Shot (#113439), Oval Framelit (#129381), Full Heart Punch (#119883), Natural Trim Ribbon (#129287), Antique Brads (#117273), Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430), Snail (#104332)

This card started with a great sketch from the Paper Craft Crew!

I created a video to show you the steps that I used to create the card.

I love creating videos! Can you tell?!

Thank you! I started using magnets a couple of months ago and I totally agree! It’s so much easier with the magnets! I use them in the packages they come in. I made a video on it that you can check out on my Youtube channel!
