Sweet Scene Card With A Simple Masking Technique

Are you a fan of making scene cards?

I definitely am!  I love spending an hour or two with the TV on just building a little scene, first with my stamps and masking and then with colors.

Once I finished this card, I realized that I made one mistake…can you find it?  It was an easy one to make, but I will know better next time I play with this set!

I started by deciding which stamps from this fabulous set I would be using to create my scene with and then I stamped them on my masking paper and fussy cut each one out.

Keep your masks because they are reusable!  I store mini in the plastic sleeve that I store my stamp set in.

I used the masks to play with an lay out my scene and then I build my scene with my stamps in my Misti.  I placed the ones that go in back down first as if I’m stamping with them, so the back of the stamp is up.  I placed the trellis down, then the bench, then the dog, pillow, and hat.  I want those 3 things in front.

By placing my stamps down like this, I was able to pick up the 3 front stamps with my Misti cover and move the other ones out of the way until I needed them.

I stamped the dog, the hat, and the pillow and then placed the masks over the top of them.  I used my Color Hive Eclipse Black ink because I will be able to color with my alcohol makers right away with that ink.

Next I placed the bench stamp in place and stamped and masked that.  I finished my scene by stamping the trellis.

Once my scene is all created, I removed the masks and started coloring with my Copics!
