This week’s Three Room Studio Saturday Challenge is to use polka dots, stripes, or plaids.

Just before I was about to start my card for the challenge, the postal carrier delivered a package from Three Room Studio containing the 5 new stencils designed by Sandy Boone, the owner!

What perfect timing!

Oh wow!  This background was created with the Rounded Checkerboard stencil.  I first inked it in Telephone Box red with my Color Hive inks from Maker Forte.  I cleaned off the stencil and repositioned it so that the solid parts of the stencil covered the red.  This allowed me to ink the rest of the space in with my Eclipse Black ink.

I LOVE the result!

I really wanted this background to be the star of the show on this card, so I used some small images and a fabulous sentiment from the One More Chapter stamp set.  I added a scrap piece of black cardstock to a white piece and used those to anchor my sentiment and images.

I kept the coloring simple using C 6, 4, 2, 0 for my Copic Colors and Y 15, 13.  I added 3 red crown jewel gems to finish off the card as well.

If you love this stencil, make sure you check out the other 4 stencils in this release.  They are fabulous and different from other patterns already on the market.

Thank you for stopping by!

We would love to have you play along with the Saturday Challenge.  One lucky participant will win a $15 gift certificate for the month of August.  Someone will be randomly selected from the participants for the month and you can pick out something fabulous from the Three Room Studio Shop!

Have a great day!
