Stretch Your Stash: 3 Mini Slimline Cards With Easy Color Technique

By | 08/20/2021

One of the most requested videos or blog posts that I get from viewers is to create several cards with the same supplies.  Everyone wants to get lots of ideas on how to use what they already have.

Today I’m playing with a floral stamp set, a thank you sentiment stamp set, and a set of mini slimline dies from Trinity Stamps.

I was actually invited to be a Trinity Stamps Brand Ambassador and I’m so delighted to create and share what I’m making from the Trinity products that I have and love!

I made this card and shared it with you in June.  I purchased this stamp set because that big floral spray is just so pretty.  It also has 6 butterfly images that you can create cards with.  I consider that to be a lot of value for one stamp set.

I did enjoy coloring in the images on this card as well.  I try to practice and create with my Copics every single day to work on my coloring skills.  I probable spent at least an hour on this card.

Some days, I want to get a lot of color with less effort.  Today is one of those days!

All 3 of the following cards use the Trinity Stamps Blooming Bunch stamp set, the Thank You Senti-mini stamp set, and the Dainty Scalloped Edge Mini Slimline die set.

For this card, I placed the 6 butterfly stamps across the front in a meandering pattern.  I stamped them in Eclipse Black Color Hive ink and colored them each in with only two colors.  I used a light and darker marker in whatever color I used on them.

Yellow: Y 17, 13

Purple: BV 02, 00

Pink: RV 13, 91

Green: G 28, 09, YG 07

Brown: E 39

Each card also got 3 yellow embellishment jewels from Trinity Stamps and a thank you sentiment.

I did a little ink blending on the card base of the last card with Speckled Egg distress oxide ink.  For this card, I used the same ink to blend on the card front panel and then die cut it with the medium die. The last card used the largest die.

I stamped the thank you sentiment directly on to the card front and added 3 of the butterflies which are colored in the same manner as the first card.  These are fussy cut out and popped up on foam.

The final card is a single layer card.  I stamped directly on to the card front panel with the large flora and the thank you sentiments.

Notice that all three cards are thank you cards but with different sentiments.  This little stamp set has a huge variety of secondary sentiments that allow you to personalize the sentiment for the recipient and the occasion.  I always feel like these types of stamp sets give me a huge value for my craft budget.

My coloring technique included using only the dark marker and just going around one edge of each petal or leaf.  This took very little time to do, but my card is very colorful.

It has a more graphic design feel and I love it!

It also only has a portion of that floral spray since it is a mini slimline.
