Two Cards, One Sketch!

By | 07/23/2013

I started my day with a list of things to do and that included some stamping!  I decided that I wanted to send cards to my Upline (the demonstrator I signed up with when I joined Stampin’ Up!) and for my Downline (the demonstrators who have signed up with me when they joined Stampin’ Up!).  It’s also time for my weekly Paper Craft Crew Design Team Challenge, so I started my crafty session with a sketch for the Paper Craft Crew.

For my first card, I created a “Congratulations” card for my Upline and good friend, Shelly!  Shelly has been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for 8 years and this year she earned the honor of being name to Stampin’ Up!s Founder’s Circle for 2013!!  Shelly has been a wonderful mentor to me for the past year.  We’ve become fast friends and she not only shares her knowledge and expertise with me, she shares it with my downline as well!  When people join my team of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, they are also a part of Shelly’s team as well.

Here is the card Shelly will be getting in the mail in a few days:

Shelly’s card is, appropriately, purple with pansies.  Shelly loves pansies.  When Stampin’ Up! came out with the Flower Shop stamp set and the coordinating Pansy Punch, Shelly was convinced that they created it just for her!!  (Did I tell you that she has a quirky sense of humor…it’s one of the reasons we get along so well!)

Card Details:

Paper and Ink:  Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Soft Subtles Designer Paper Stack, Crushed Curry

Stamp Sets:  Flower Shop and Sassy Salutations

Accessories:  Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Silver Taffeta Ribbon (Sneak peek from the Holiday Catalog!), Rhinestones, Itty Bitty Shapes punches, Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Pansy Punch

The second card that I created used the same sketch for the card layout and this one is for my active downline members!  Here they will have a sample of some of the new In Colors, DSP and ribbons!

Here is the original card sketch that I used to create these two cards:

pccc51You can see that my cards pretty closely follow the sketch that I started with.  I moved my sentiment up and added some layers to the trim border.  I also chose a different center to my flowers to add a punch of color to the card.  In the second card, I used butterflies with rhinestones to add some sparkle.  I also added a bow to each card, which was not pictured in the sketch!  You can create a card using this sketch and upload it on the Paper Craft Crew site to participate in the challenge as well!  I would love to see what you come up with!  It’s fun to see how other people interpret the sketches.

Join Stampin’ Up!

I’ve made a lot of great friends who share my love of stamping since joining Stampin’ Up! last year.  I have earned an award of my own as well!  I am a Stampin’ Start Achiever!!!  (That means that I met some minimum sales and recruiting goals that Stampin’ Up! set for me in my first 6 months as a demonstrator!)

The fun thing about being a part of Stampin’ Up! is that I not only get 20% off my stamping supplies, I earn cash bonuses and free products when I reach goals!  It is so much fun to get free stuff for doing something that you love!  Shelly has earned not one, but two vacations this year.  She earned the Grand Vacation for next year which is a Caribbean Cruise!!  Additionally, she earned a 5 day vacation to Utah, where she will get to mix and mingle and create with the other 99 top demonstrators.  The next Grand Vacation to work toward is to Hawaii!!  (I’m going to be working hard towards that one!)

I find it very inspiring to see Shelly’s success because she is proof that you really can have a profitable business that supports your family!  When you work hard with Stampin’ Up! they reward you in so many ways…cash, product, trips, and recognition!  It’s amazing!

You can become a part of our amazing team as well!
