Want a single layer WOW card?
I was inspired to create single layer cards today. This one is a hit, but there was definitely one that was a loser! (Look for tomorrow’s post entitled, “Can This Card Be Saved?”.)
Both cards were inspired by Card Maker Magazine. Of course, I didn’t have any of the supplies that they used, so I substituted things from my stamping stash to create my own versions.
The entire point of reading magazines, blogs, Pinterest and watching videos is to get inspired to create our own version of something.
My goal is to inspire you to go straight to your crafting space and make a card as soon as you finish reading this!!!
(I made a video to go with this post, so I just know that I’ll be successful and you will feel inspired to create!)
I used the bold new In Colors for 2014-2016. I’m so glad these colors will be around for the next 2 years!!!! Love them!
You can also see that I added my linen thread to the top of my card front. That’s one of the new trends we’re seeing in 2014. It worked for me here because I had more white space at the top than the bottom and I really wanted to add the linen thread to the card.
Here is the list of products that I used for this card. The only measurement is the card base: Cut 4-1/4 x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2″. One single layer…super simple!
