I was excited to see this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge because I have the perfect cover die from Altenew for this sketch. I also found a box of happiness from Catherine Pooler’s latest release on my doorstep when I drove into my driveway. WIN-WIN!
The background paper is a fun 6 x 6″ paper stack that I got from Lawn Fawn last summer appropriately entitled Really Rainbow! The cover die that I cut the kraft card stock with is Altenew’s Watercolor Stripes Cover Die and that fabulous sunflower is from Catherine Pooler’s latest release. This is the Sunshine Flowers stamp and die set. The sentiment is from the coordinating Scatter Sunshine stamp set. I spritzed the entire piece with Ranger’s Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold Mist to give it some sparkle.

I love sparkle on a card. No card feels complete without it unless it is a totally clean and simple card.
I colored the sunflower with my Altenew Artist Alcohol Markers and added some white gel pen to the center.
This was a very quick card to create. I was tempted to so an ink blended background, but I have the pretty paper and decided to dive into my stash and actually use a piece!
Here is the sketch that I started with:
