Featured Retiring Products: Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin’ Kit, Lovely Letters Alphabet Stamp Set, Scallop Square Punch
I am loving this new Scrapping and Stamping Sunday Series! I made 11 scrapbook pages in just a couple of hours today. It’s so relaxing to sit and create. I used to scrapbook all the time when the kids were younger and they often crafted along. As my daughter got older, she would come to the crops with me. I have several scrapbooks that she has made in our collection. Once they got to middle school and high school, we got so busy keeping up with sports, music and all of the activities, I didn’t scrapbook as often.
Now I have time to catch up! The pages above are two pages that I created to show how I incorporate my stamping into my scrapbook pages. This week I used my stamps to create my page title and my focal image and journaling boxes. I used the Daydream Medallions (#126467) and Everything Eleanor (#124164) stamped in Pool Party, More Mustard, Primrose Petals and Basic Gray. I cut them out using my Big Shot (#113439) and my Floral Framelits (#127012). I also used my Lovely Letters Alphabet (#127796) and punched it out with the Scallop Square Punch (#119884).
This is a really pretty alphabet set. I think that if you colored it in with markers and highlighted the flourish in a different color, it would be especially pretty! I agonized over which alphabet set to get because they are amongst the priciest stamp sets to purchase. I have to say that I am delighted with my choice and I love this for scrapbooks!
Another RETIRING product that I played with this afternoon was the Afternoon Daydream Simply Scrappin’ Kit (#126927). I don’t ordinarily buy scrapbook kits, but I wanted to give one a try. It came with 6 sheets of 12 x 12″ Designer Series Paper in two different two sided patterns. There were 8 sheets of 12 x 12″ card stock in 4 colors: More Mustard, Primrose Petals, Pool Party and Basic Gray. It also had 3 sheets of stickers that included page decorations, border stickers and journaling boxes. I created 9 pages from the kit and had one piece of DSP left over, which I then used in the pages I created with my stamps and tools.
The kit comes with the materials, the layouts are all you! You get to create layouts that you love! I did not add anything to the kit. I wanted to see how many pages I could get just using the materials that I was given. I created 4 two page layouts of coordinating pages and then one single page that I will use as the front or back page of the album.
The kit had plenty of jouranling boxes and border stickers! Kits are quick to put together and you can do it in front of the television or chatting with a group of friends. Every person using the same kit will create completely different pages!
Ordinarily, I would not have paired these papers and I would have added a plain card stock mat in a coordinating color like Pool Party, behind them. I was trying not to add to the kit, but that is one thing I would most certainly add to future kits!
I did make a video tutorial for this project today!!!
