Challenge YOUrself Scrapbook Challenge For October!

By | 10/07/2021

Yay!  It’s time for another scrapbook challenge on the Challenge YOUrself blog!  This month’s challenge is black and white plus one other color.

Challenge Yourself 12 x 12" Layout

I really enjoy these scrapbook challenges every month.  I’m creating a lot of pages and I’m actually in the pictures!  I’m also taking more pictures with me in them so that I can have some fun new photos to document my story right now!

Challenge Yourself 12 x 12" Layout

This is the same photo that I used in my September layout.  I simply printed it in black and white.  I think it is a really sweet photo of us on a very lovely fall morning.

My husband is very photogenic.  I’ve never seen a bad photo of him!

I used some goodies from this month’s Hip Kit Club.  I really liked the the papers and ephemera in this month’s kit.  I think this is my favorite kit to receive because I feel like I’m getting everything I need to complete at least 6 layouts.

I do try to use them up by the end of the month, and for the most part I really have.  With the exception of a couple of busy months!  I’m hoping that December and January are nice quiet months and I will be able to get more layouts done.

I actually get both the layout kit and the pocket page kit.  I like the pocket page kit because it comes with puffy stickers and other nice decorating bits for the layouts.  I use the pocket pieces in my traveler’s notebook layouts and on my 12×12 layouts.  I do also occasionally make a 6 x 8″ pocket layout for whatever album I am currently working on.

This month, there were puffy stickers and chipboard pieces and they always add so much to the layouts.  I added sequins and enamel dots from my stash to match the color scheme I was using for my page.

The kit also came with a nice variety of thickers, alphabet stickers and phrase stickers.

I always enjoy building a 12 x 12″ layout.  I do feel like I need to start using sketches.  I have a couple of go to layouts that I seem to default to and this is one of them.

I find the horizontal, vertical, and L-shaped layouts really appealing.

One of my favorite scrapbookers to watch is Victoria Calvin.  She also has some go to layouts that she uses most often.  She builds 8-1/2 x 11″ layouts and she has lots of good inspiration with her young daughter happily being the subject of her photos!

We would love to have you join us for the challenge this month.  Just remember that YOU need to be in the photo!!  Sharon generously gives out several prizes throughout the month for participation.

Thank you for stopping by!!!
