I like to play with my punches and my Big Shot. I find it fun to experiment and see what new things I can do with my punches. I love it when a tool can be used for more that one job. I’ve found a new way to combine my Blossom and Modern Label Punches to create a great embellishment for a card or scrapbook page.
I created a video to show you exactly how I created the flower for the center of the card. The card itself is designed from this weeks Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge.
I used a Very Vanilla card base cut at 4-1/4 x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ to create a square card. A Primrose Petal mat is layered on top of that cut at 4-1/8″ square. Then there is a mat in Designer Series Paper from the Print Poetry pack (#129312) cut at 4″ square.
The smaller mats are Gumball Green cut at 2-3/4″ square and finally a square of Very Vanilla cut at 2-5/8″ square. I edged the left edge of the Gumball Green using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch (#119275). I used the Modern Label Punch (#119849) for the Midnight Muse topped with a sentiment from Loving Thoughts (#125845) punched with the Word Window Punch (#119857).
The Blossom Punch (#125603) was used to punch a Primrose Petal blossom and a Very Vanilla Blossom. I punched 3 Modern Labels from the Print Poetry DSP and layered them on top of the very vanilla blossom. I added dimensionals and turned this slightly to layer it on top of the primrose petal blossom. I added some rhinestones (#119246) and some Midnight Muse Ribbon (#126847).
Finally, I created a flower center with the Soda Pop Top (#129388) flattened in my Big Shot (#113439) using the platform and cutting plates, but no tabs. I added a flower from Lacy and Lovely (#122887) stamped on Very Vanilla in Primrose Petal. This is punched with the 1″ circle punch (#119868), topped with an In Color Dahlia (#127556).
Phew! Harder to describe than to create!
