A Sketch Challenge With The Create And Inkspire October Kit

By | 10/27/2020

I will confess that I was a little unsure of the stamp set included in this month’s Create and Inkspire card kit.  I love the value I’ve been getting in these kits!  This one came with some beautiful specialty papers and cardstock, a two step stencil, and some rub on luster paint. The papers are so nice, I am feeling a little apprehensive about using them!  You know that means months of hoarding if I don’t use them this week!

I had a lot of fun creating a card with the masking paper that came in the kit.  I used this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to create my design team card for the week and I LOVE how this card came out.  All reservations about this stamp set are gone.  I’m in love!

Believe it or not, I actually followed the sketch for this week pretty closely!

Michelle Stewart always  makes fantastic sketches.  I love this one and it calls out to be a clean and simple card, yet I couldn’t resist doing a little watermark stamping with VersaMark ink on that fantastic kraft cardstock that came in the kit.  I have always loved the look of this on kraft cardstock.

Oh how I loved this sketch!  Once I layered my stamps together, I realized that this was going to be a fun little fall scene to color!

I pulled out my Copics and got started and had fun combining some purple shades and some yellow greens.  I’ve developed some favorite combinations for pumpkins, apples, and green things.  I hadn’t developed a favorite color combination for grapes and pears yet.

That watermark background kept this card from feeling empty.  I considered adding some splatters, but I really liked the way this looked without them.

I didn’t use any of the sentiments on this card because I just couldn’t fit them.  The next card I create with this set will definitely have room for that fabulous Thanks or the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment.

I will also be using some of the fantastic metallic specialty papers that came  in this set!
