This month’s Challenge YOUrself Scrapbook Challenge is all about BLING!
I thought this was a great opportunity to use up some of my old retired bling that I’ve always loved so much! I also used it as an opportunity to play with the new Thankful Gardens DSP patterns and stamp set that was just released by Stampin’ Up! as an Online Exclusive!
This is such a pretty set of papers and the patterns on the B sides of the paper are fantastic for scrapbook layouts as you can see! I did some fussy cutting on one of the pretty papers to gets some floral embellishments and I also used the stamp, die, and mask set to create some of my own ephemera bits. You can see how pretty the florals are when you color them in with the masks. It adds such pretty details to the flowers!
I used some old rhinestones as my bling. I made a couple of C sweeps and I added a rhinestone to all the flower centers!
My second page was a twist on the first one. I also pulled out some old black tags that I had gotten at the dollar store a couple of years ago. I’m using up my stash! Can you tell? I used a few sticker letters from my stash for the title, along with a stamps from the Everyday You & Me stamp set. You can see more stamped title pieces from the set on the first layout page I shared above.
I used the tags to anchor my florals, and I was pretty happy with the end result.
I did add some layers to the second page of the layout that are not featured on the sketch that I created. I tried using only one or two layers and it felt like it wasn’t coherent with the first page, so I added some more of the patterns, and I was much happier with the end result.
This is not a clean and simple layout with lots of white space! I just wanted to play with layers and flowers today!
