The theme for the new Scrapping 4 Fun Challenge is Anything Goes Christmas/Winter.

I created a Christmas layout featuring the decorations I put up this year.  I kept them fairly minimal because storage space is a premium here and I don’t want to have every space stuffed with holiday decorations for the rest of the year!

I finally had time to pull out the November Hip Kit Club that I’ve been anxious to play with since I got it a few weeks ago.  I was creating a layout for a Virtual Crop weekend that I am doing and used the scraps I had from that page to create this one!

Isn’t that Buffalo Plaid fabulous?  My new traveler’s notebook is actually that patterned and I’m excited because I got it on an amazing Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale.

This kit came with all kinds of goodies along with the patterned papers.  It had enamel embellishments, layered embellishments, brad tops, enamel dots, chipboard pieces that included frames, lots of ephemera, and a thicker alphabet.  I felt like I had a lot of options of goodies to add to my layout.

Here you can see the porch decorations which light up at night.  I love a festive porch!!

I added a couple of labels from the November Elle’s Studio kit.  I’m trying out a few of the scrapbook and planner kits to see which one I want to subscribe to.

Here you can see that I matted each photo with either green or red patterned paper from the kit.  I also tried to add a label to each middle photo and an ephemera cluster next to the top and bottom photo.  I did a diagonal layout here which pulls your eye across the page nicely.  I also added my title toward the bottom near the journaling.

That is a photo of the Christmas tree that I bought.  I picked a tree that literally collapses into a 6″ high pile.  It came pre-lit with the ribbon and red Christmas balls and giant white plastic snowflakes on it.  I didn’t expect it to be the most beautiful tree we’ve ever had, but I did expect it to be a better quality.  It is plastic…which I expected.  However, I expected it to be that heavy fake plastic pine branch that you get when you go to a craft store or a home improvement store.  This tree is made of plastic that looks like cut up trash bags.

I added some tacky giant poinsettias, some pine cones, some wood snowflakes, some felt ornaments, and some gold bells along with a pretty angel at the top.  It also has a pretty tree skirt and a storage bag for after Christmas.  It will take 5 minutes to take it down and store it in the bag!

We also have a nice garland on the TV stand with candle sticks and fake candles that light up.  I added candle rings to make them more festive.  I also got a centerpiece with 3 candles that will light up as soon as I add the batteries.  This is sitting on a small table runner that my Mom made years ago.  I have a matching one that is longer on the table as well.

You can see that I added a sentiment from a Simple Stories sticker pad to an Elle’s Studio label for this photo as well.

Besides a wreath and garland on the front door…that is it for decorations!

When I received this kit, I loved a few of the papers and all of the embellishments.  There were several papers that I didn’t love, so I’ve been using them as photo mats or small accents on the pages I’m creating.  In the end, this entire kit will get used by the end of December.

I used my entire November kit in November, so it seems reasonable that if I find one kit that I love and subscribe to, it will be perfect for the month I’m in.

I don’t ever want to get to the point where I have more than I can use.  My days of a giant craft stash are over!  I have a few things that I keep because I know I’ll need them in a pinch, but I don’t want stuff I don’t have room for.  I’m being very disciplined about this!

I hope you are finding time to create some holiday decorations, scrapbook layouts, or cards.  Perhaps you love to sew and you are making a new table runner!  Enjoy your holiday season and take time for yourself.

Thank you for stopping by!
