Clean And Simple Monochromatic Card

By | 02/04/2020

This card is almost monochromatic!

This week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch felt like a great chance to do something very clean and simple with a couple of new things that I allowed myself to purchase on my little crafting budget.

CAS Monochromatic Card with Altenew Products

I’m still setting up my new little crafting space so it feels less relaxing than it usually does to craft, but it is still nice to just lose yourself in being creative!

For this card, I’ve used some new Altenew inks for the flower.  This is their tranquility set.  It’s a pretty moody blue to almost black collection of 4 inks.  The leaves are from one of the gray sets.

The floral image is from the new Basic Blooms set.  This is a layering set that is very easy to layer. Some of the layering sets require extreme precision and lots of patience, but this one was a nice easy one to master.

The lines are made with my EK Success Journaling Pen.  The fabulous sentiment is from a Pinkfresh Word Series Set called Believe.  I can’t wait to have a chance to get more creative with that fabulous set!

Here is the Atlantic Hearts Sketch that I started with:

I can imagine a lot of ways to use Washi tape and patterned paper for this sketch.  I needed to keep it quick and easy. I always love the chance to add some just plain journaling pen lines to a card.  I used a magnetic ruler on a magnetic board to keep these straight.  I’m not much for free handing straight lines.  If you need crooked lines, I’m your gal!

Thank you for stopping by! I keep promising to show you pictures of my new little craft space…soon!  I’m almost there.
