Playing with a set of pretty papers and a stamp set that you’ve had in your stash for a few months is so satisfying!
Today I pulled out the Full of Life Designer Series Papers and the Sketched Butterflies stamp set. I bought both of these during various Stampin’ Up! sales in the summer and fall. They had been on my wish list since the catalog came out in April of 2024 and as soon as they went on sale, I snapped them up!
I’ve used the papers several times, along with the sentiments from the stamp set. This is the first time I’ve used these butterflies. They are so pretty!!
Instead of making just one card, I made a set of 5! I made that an easier activity by selecting a card layout that I liked and then used for all 5 cards!
Both sides of this paper are fantastic, so I had to make a few cards with each side!
The first card I made, was because I wanted to experiment with the layout of the paper. I was looking for a center panel card that would showcase the paper. 
I liked the layout of the card, but I didn’t love all the white layers. I also wasn’t happy with the colors I used on the butterfly. I added Blueberry Bushel as a mat behind the DSP and as a banner piece behind my focal image and sentiment. I used the Nested Layer Dies and the Stylish Shapes dies for some of these cards. I also used the Modern Oval Punch and the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch on the cards.
This butterfly was made from inking the stamp in Highland Heather, then sponging on Gorgeous Grape with a dauber. It just wasn’t enough contrast for me.
I changed the white oval to Balmy Blue and changed the butterfly to Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie. I was much happier with this version!
The third card called for trying a different DSP in the stack. I loved this one and the circle from the Stylish Shapes dies looks perfect over the center point. I added less things to the card as well and I was even happier with this one. I also used Lemon Lime Twist card stock and Shaded Spruce ink for the sentiment.
Of course, I had to try a couple with the watercolor wash patterns on the back side of the papers.
