There is room for improvement here! I generally try to avoid making busy cards. After you make cards for a while, you definitely gravitate toward a style that is your own. My card today is not exactly my style. I think the buttons push it over the edge for me!
I like the card with the exception of two things. The buttons are too much and I should have used very vanilla card stock to match the designer series paper! I think that instead of the buttons, I would put tiny pearls in each scallop or a simple black dot with a marker in each scallop. I’m also wishing I had used dimensionals on the scalloped image to pop it up and give the card more dimension.
Hmm…by now you must be wondering what I actually like about the card. I love this black and vanilla designer paper. This is Modern Medley Designer Series Paper! I can’t wait to play with it more! It has a sheet that looks like a page from a music score! Fabulous! I’m thinking that will be great with the Pleasant Poppies or Blooming with Kindness!
I also love the doily image from the Happy Day stamp set. I love this set! It’s got a couple of lacy images and several sentiments. The sentiment that I used here is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set. I needed a small sentiment! I’m sure that you’ll agree that by the time I got to the part of the sketch that said “sentiment”, I had enough happening here already.
I also love these new buttons…just not on this card. They have an ivory appearance that I find old fashioned and appealing. I am guessing that is why these are called Very Vintage Designer Buttons. Pretty! I love the lacy edges.
You can shop in my Online Stampin’ Up! Store to get the supplies you need to completely redesign this card and make your own version. Consider it a challenge from me! The original sketch for this card is from the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. I usually love the sketches, but clearly I was not feeling inspired by this one!!
I’ve got more videos and some cards I actually like without a redesign that I will be sharing later in the week!

Thank you for stopping by today!!!
Hi Kim, I see what you mean about the buttons they do kind of shout at you on this card. If it were me I would put my sentiment banner across where the button are and maybe three pearls where you have the sentiment.
I make cards to that I am not happy with and tend to leave them out for a few days and usually something comes to mind to change them and make them more me!!
Thanks for all your inspiration.
Julia
Haha! Yes they do!!! They are gorgeous buttons…just not on this card!
