Imagine The Possibilities When You Choose Happiness!

By | 07/20/2014

Imagine the possibilities when you choose happiness!  Stampin’ Up!’s Choose Happiness stamp set, that is.

While I couldn’t go to Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Convention this year (two kids in college…a new roof…priorities!), I loved that Stampin’ Up! did a live stream of some of the big events.

On the last day, they did a live stream of the closing event in which Shelli Gardner, Stampin’ Up!’s Cofounder and CEO, demonstrated some projects.  I always love watching her and seeing the projects that she creates.  She showed at least 10 projects and they were all made with the Choose Happiness stamp set.

One of my favorites was a Halloween project.  She took an everyday stamp set and created a project that was perfect for Halloween using the colors of the season and great project ideas.

Needless to say, this stamp set was in my head today when I was browsing some of my favorite design challenge websites.

I created a card using the sketch challenge provided by my friend Holly K. over at Rubber Redneck.  Holly is starting her 2 week long online Fresh Cuts Class (it’s not too late to sign up!) and every day of the class, she provides either a sketch or a color challenge.  I LOVE participating in them.  Her sketches are challenging and she makes color choices you just wouldn’t think of yourself.  Plus, Holly is one of the nicest, most genuine people that I’ve met in my last 2 years as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!  Making new friends has definitely been a huge benefit of being a demonstrator!

The other challenge that I was looking at is this week’s Nacho Average Challenge…this was a color challenge to combine Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.

Game on!   Inspiration from not 1, but 3 places!  Here’s my card:

It’s a pretty color combination and the layout is beautiful.  I take credit for none of that!  I just picked how I put them together and which stamp sets and papers I used.  You can see one piece of the All Abloom designer paper stack.  The rest of the images and the sentiment come from the Choose Happiness set.

Do you see the 3 Cherry Cobbler pearls?  Those are colored with the dark Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities marker.  I love how quick it is to get a coordinating embellishment now.  Don’t they look shiny too?

I can’t show you the sketch because it is part of Holly’s class.   You can get details at Rubber Redneck Stampede for her Fresh Cuts 2014 class.  (The card she created for this sketch used the Work of Art stamp set…another favorite!)

You should definitely treat yourself to an online class and some sketch challenges just for inspiration!  (I have several online classes that you can choose also…including my monthly Stamper’s Lounge video tutorials!)

Kim, as a fellow Stampin’ Up! I too was not able to attend convention this year but was so thankful for the live streaming of the general sessions. When I saw this stamp set featured on Saturday I fell in love with it more. I love the way you used it to create this very pretty card! Great inspiration from all three challenges. Thank you so much for creating with us at Nacho Average Challenges, hope you will join us again.
