Seriously! Is there anything more fun than a new journal? I arrived home from work today to find a bunch of crafty goodness on my doorstep. I had a box from Catherine Pooler Designs and one from Kindred Stamps.
The one from CP had the new Canvo Journal Bundle and the new mini ink pads from Catherine Pooler.
The Kindred Stamps had a super fun Office stamp set with some of my all time favorite Office quotes.
I love a new journal. You can almost feel the possibilities of what is to come when you unwrap it!
I created the title page by practicing some alcohol marker coloring on separate paper and creating a little Pam sticker to match my favorite Pam quote…”There’s a lot of beauty in ordinary things. Isn’t that the point?”
I have so many beautiful quotes to add to this page. I can’t wait to fill it up with inspiring or funny quotes.
I also created my index page:
My bullet journaling style is to just use the next available page for whatever I need it for. The index is useful if I am searching for a specific page…like my book list or my home improvement list for example.
I don’t separate my journals into specific sections, I just use the next page for the latest need.
It works for me and keeps me from being too OCD about having a perfect journal. I need function, not perfection.
I also created a page for each month from now until the end of 2019.
This is my favorite way to keep track of appointments, meetings, birthdays and other important dates. You know how you sometimes make a doctor’s appointment or your yearly mammogram appoint months ahead? This is how I keep track of mine.
Honestly, I tried using my phone…I just couldn’t make that system work for me.
This is the only page that I decorated so far. I used the Brutus Monroe stamp of the month and colored him in with Copics. I stamped him on paper, colored him in, cut him out and then turned him into a sticker for this page. The other images are from the Brutus Monroe October Card Kit. It was a fabulous kit!
I used the new CP mini ink pads to add the color and I’m so happy with them.
The November and other month stamps are one of the stamp sets in the CP Canvo Bundle.
I haven’t decorated this yet, but I did print a 2018 and a 2019 calendar on cardstock to add to my journal. I simply used washi tape from Doodlebug Designs to tape the top down. I’m going to add some inspiration tiers to the calendar page.
All in all, I got a good start. I love journaling and now I have an excuse to share all the things I like to create for my journals!
Stay tuned for more!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting!
