Make The Cards Challenge: A Fun Sketch With Sassy & Crafty

By | 06/21/2021

Have you checked out the Sassy & Crafty stamp and stencil store yet?

It’s one of my new faves!  I really like the owner and designer, Beth Duff, and she has an amazing full time design team.  I was lucky enough to be invited by her to be part of her YouTube team for the last 6 months.  Now I’m a huge fan of her designs and products.  She has good prices and a nice selection. I also love that her designs are inclusive.  They embrace everyone.  I love it!

I LOVE the stencils that she creates.  The designs are different and so versatile for all the stenciling techniques that I love to do.  I pulled one out called Snowballs for my card today and I am in love with the design.  Can I say, I’m OBSESSED with it!

My card is created for this week’s Make The Cards Challenge which is a sketch challenge!

I love this sketch.  I immediately went to the new order that I just got from Sassy & Crafty to find the perfect stamp set.  I also pulled out the Snowball Stencil.   I have had the snowball stencil in my stash for a couple of months and haven’t used it yet.  In my latest order, I got this sweet Love Your Look stamp set that is just adorable.  It’s loaded with images and sentiments.

I used all the images in this stamp set to create the meandering pattern that is represented by the circles in the sketch.  I turned the sketch sideways and created a fun slimline card.

I created a quick stenciled background using a red, a yellow, and a blue distress oxides.  The stencil is a 6 x 6″ stencil, but the pattern is easy to match when you want to create a slimline.  You can just move it down, line up the dots and keep going.

I stamped and colored all the little cats and cut them out with my Brother Scan-n-Cut.

I used several different color combinations to make the kittens look different from each other.  I added some pattern to a few of them and left a few just plain.

I added some Bittersweet Crown Gem Jewels from Maker Forte for a little card bling.

The card is busy, but so are kittens!  Perhaps if I had used just one color for my background, it would have been a cleaner look.

But what is the fun in that?
