Need a Quick Stocking Stuffer?

By | 11/28/2012

I’m collecting stocking stuffers for my “kids” for Christmas.  I say kids in quotes because they are both in college, yet they still like to find their stockings stuffed full on Christmas morning.  It’s just tradition!  That means that I spend the weeks before Christmas searching for those clever little things that they will find useful, without breaking the bank.

A couple of weeks ago I found a package of two (and in my opinion, hideous) emery boards in a clearance bin.  They just so happen to be a combination of colors my daughter likes.  (They actually match the quilt she made to take to college…which turned out very pretty!)  I decided to decorate them with my papers and stamped images to make them seem a little fancier and somehow, a tad more special!

Emery Board Holders

Surprisingly, I like them and I know that my daughter will use these emery boards.  I also know that she will like that I took the time to decorate them, no matter how imperfect they are.  We all value hand made gifts in our family!  When she first went to college, I gave her one of the Stampin’ Up! Card Kits.  Didn’t I get a beautiful hand made card from my daughter for my birthday?!  She knew how much that hand made card would mean to me.

If you have a college age…what do we call them at this point?  They aren’t children, yet they are still our kids, but not quite kids!  It’s a dilemma!  Stampin’ Up! has a new card making kit. It would make a great stocking stuffer!   If you order by December 12, it should be at your door in time for Christmas.  Just maybe, you will get a hand made card for one of your special days!  Just remember to include stamps with the gift…and maybe, a self-addressed envelope! (It’ll increase your chances of getting a card…but there are no guarantees!)

                 Fancy Friends Kit

Remember the “Pick a Kit” survey from our October 1 Facebook post? The results are in and your “likes” have been heard. Introducing the first viewer’s choice kit (drum roll, please) . . . Fancy Friends!

Get everything you need to make six cards for only $15.95 (item 132319)! If six isn’t enough, add Note Cards to your order (item 107311)-we’ve already included extra rhinestones in the Fancy Friends kit.

To assemble the cards:

  1. Stamp the doily image in Daffodil Delight or Old Olive ink three times on the card and once on the envelope, re-inking between uses.
  2. Stamp “Friends” in Daffodil Delight or Old Olive ink on the front of the card.
  3. Adhere the flowers to the card. Adhere Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of the flowers.

These are great stocking stuffers!  They are also great to have if you need a quick card or just want to add a few beautiful cards to your stash.
