Quick and Easy Card and Mixed Media Bookmark

By | 01/31/2021

I used the TLC Designs Daisy Frame set intending to make an interactive card.

I got distracted by the daisy.  Once I die cut one of those out, that was the only part I wanted to play with for the day!

I ended up making a very quick card and a couple of mixed media bookmarks because I actually need a bookmark!

The card is simply the smallest of the 5 frames die cut and glued together several times.  I also stacked the daisy die cuts and colored the top one with my Altenew Markers.  I added a simple sentiment and a blue piece of scrap paper to complete the card.  So simple!!

I’ve found that a lot of my followers really want quick and easy cards.  The complicated cards and the cards that require special techniques are nice when you have time, but most of the time we need our cards to be quick and easy.

I used some of my ready made tags that I got in a box of 100!  I might as well start using them!  I printed out a free clip art clock face, pulled a couple of green ticket tags with a nice sentiment out of my die cut cup, added a pink mat cut in the smallest daisy frame die piece, and added the colored daisies that I made on top of it all.

I added some black and white splatter.  Once that was dry, I added a piece of Snow Family Fun Digital paper that I printed from TLC Designs to the back of the tags and I did a gold embossing technique around the edges of the tags.  A piece of frayed twine finished off my bookmarks.

I’ll be sending one of these to my daughter tomorrow.  She gave me the Book of the Month club for Christmas and we take turns picking the books.  We are having our own little book discussion “group”.  I thought this was a great idea for the two of us since we live so far apart.  We can Facetime our discussions each  month.  Now we will have a handmade bookmark to hold our places!
