I’m over on the STAMPlorations blog today with the Throwback Thursday feature.
I’ve picked an inspiration card and my job was to create 3 variations of that inspiration card.
I selected a card created by Maria Fischer which has a black and white stamped image with a small amount of color added to the card with a geometric stencil.
What I loved about this card was that it was a fun idea to add color to an image without doing a lot of painting or watercoloring. Maria actually added clear glossy texture past on top of her stamped image using the stencil. Once it dried, she added the ink blending and the paste resisted the ink, leaving color where the paste was not on the card!
I created 3 variations. The first card is just a simple CAS card with black and white images from the Small Birds stamp set that I stamped on and only one of them has color.
My second card uses one of the Small Birds to create a black and white background. I added color with the Artsy Swirl stencil and the Maker Forte Kaleidoscope Powder in Pluto.
I added some Washi tape and some Maker Forte Sugar Sparkle glitter in Eclipse to finish the card.
My final card uses a simple watercolor wash with Distress Oxides to add color that I then stamped my bird image on.
I added a bit of sparkle with the Artsy Swirl stencil and some mist I made using the Maker Forte Neptune Kaleidoscope powder.
All of the cards used the STAMPlorations Big Hugs word phrase die for the sentiment.
Here is a video tutorial so you can see how I created each of these:
